So, it’s Valentine’s Day!
This should be a very exciting time for men and women,
because it’s when others expect their significant other to shower them with
gifts, flowers, a getaway, and quality time as a token of their love for them.
But, my question is, if a person loves you, shouldn’t the love be shown daily?
No, I am in no way attempting to put a damper on anyone that
celebrates this day, or attempting to discredit anyone’s reason for looking
forward to this day. What I am hoping to get across is that, having a day out
of 365 days to serve as a reminder to your significant other that they should
do something special to commemorate their love for you is not what love is
about. Love should be celebrated daily!
If a person loves you, they should not have to wait for
Valentine’s Day to send you flowers, buy you gifts, serve you breakfast in bed,
rub your feet, or spend quality time with you. These things should come
naturally!
Yes, it feels great that your love will take Valentine’s Day
to go out of his or her way to show his love for you, but again, one does not
have to wait for Valentine’s Day to go out of their way to show you that they
love you.
And for the single men and women wishing they had a
Valentine, YOU do have a Valentine! You are your own Valentine. Take yourself
on a date to your favorite restaurant, and catch a movie afterwards. It is
worth it and YOU deserve it! – Author Mahogany Law
